Pendahuluan

Adakalanya, air memiliki bau, rasa, atau penampakan yang tidak menyenangkan. Karakter estetika ini biasanya akan menggangu kesehatan publik. Aturan pemerintah mempersyaratkan kualitas air baku untuk air minum yang memenuhi persyaratan. Begitu pula konsumen akan melakukan komplain jika air yang mereka bayar memiliki permasalahan dalam kualitas estetika ini. Umumnya setiap orang ingin mengkonsumsi air yang terlihat jernih, tidak berwarna, dan tidak berbau. Langkah pertama menyelesaikan permasalahan kualitas estetika ini adalah mengidentifikasi apakah sumber air yang digunakan atau air yang diolah berasal dari sumber yang baik.

Untuk memberikan update aspek parktis maupun teknis dalam menyediaan air baku untuk air minum, perlu dilakukan pelatihan mengenai pengolahan air dan penyediaan air baku untuk air minum.
