Pipeline Protection Training

Description

This training course will provide an overview of main aspects of pipeline protection and safety management. Gas Metering System Training

Training Gas Metering System

This course has been designed to cover the basics of physical and chemical makeup of gas mixtures and how the mixtures are affected by temperature and pressure.   The fundamentals of volume determination devices operation, calibration and maintenance will also be reviewed.

The term “fiscal metering” is often interchanged with custody transfer, and refers to metering that is a point of a commercial transaction such as when a change in ownership takes place.  Custody transfer will be explained as it takes place any time fluids are passed from the possession of one party to another.  Participants will also gain an understanding of Remote gas well sites require local flow metering of the mineral reserve’s gas flow rate for asset and revenue accounting purposes.

Upon completion of the course participants will have gained an understanding of operating a custody transfer systems for natural gas.  An understanding of the principles of how to operate custody transfer stations so as to minimize systematic errors and ensure accuracy will also be obtained.

Audience

This course is mainly targeted to process technicians, process technologists, instrumentation personnel, and safety and maintenance personnel.   The course can also be applicable to employees working with purchasing, job planning as well as immediate supervisors to the working technicians.

Training Vibration Monitoring, Analysis & Balancing

INTRODUCTION:

Vibration Analysis is one of the most powerful condition based maintenance technologies, and the cornerstone of many predictive maintenance programs.  It is also widely utilized for troubleshooting and fault diagnosis of machinery and structures.  In recent years, much emphasis has been given to on-line or permanently installed vibration monitoring for machinery that is inaccessible, critical to process, and/or very expensive.

The future advancement of equipment condition monitoring technologies is intrinsically tied to the application and development of on-line or permanently installed systems. As the advantages of asset management and reliability strategies become widely accepted and aggressively implemented, significant emphasis is being placed on equipment condition monitoring.  In fact, the historic barrier between production and maintenance will soon fall victim to the understanding that equipment condition data is as important as process parameters, and significantly influences production, quality, safety, and profitability.

For many petroleum facilities, on-line vibration monitoring systems are used as machinery protection systems, and therefore installed only on critical equipment.  The objective is to eliminate process downtime through equipment that is 100% available and reliable.  At the same plant, there may also be monitoring of general purpose machinery using portable instruments.  The objective of this program is to reduce maintenance expense through early detection of equipment and component defects.  As on-line systems become readily available and accepted, walk around monitoring programs are improved using permanently installed sensors and hardware, typically installed at inaccessible or hazardous locations.

COURSE OVERVIEW:
Maintenance Planning and Scheduling of work orders is the hub of a well-functioning maintenance organization. In order for maintenance planning and scheduling to work, many other systems need to work well. Most importantly equipment inspections through preventive maintenance, technical database such as bill of materials, work order his-tory, and standard job plans. Maintenance spare part stores have to function well. Maintenance Planning and Scheduling is critical for every successful individual and company.
The focus are directed to concepts of Maintenance Management, establishing a healthy Maintenance program and Maintenance Planning and Scheduling procedures. Computer applications on maintenance planning and scheduling will be addressed too. Emphasis on various aspects of analytical techniques which have proved valuable in maintenance planning and scheduling. Most maintenance departments do not plan to fail, they simply fail to plan and therefore do indeed fail. The major reason behind failure to plan is that putting out today’s fires is given priority over planning for tomorrow – thereby insuring that future equipment failures will require reactive response. Preventive/Predictive Maintenance (PPM) is not conceived to put equipment in proper condition, but to maintain it in that condition from the time of acquisition or restoration. Proactive maintenance requires a cultural transition from a reactive to a proactive environment.

Exhaust Gas Recirculation (EGR) for Diesel Engines

Introduction

Meeting the requirements of heavy-duty engine emissions regulations is a challenge for all engine manufacturers. Since the introduction of Exhaust Gas Recirculation (EGR) in medium and heavy-duty diesel engines, these systems have become more sophisticated and tightly integrated with emission control systems.

This 2-day seminar will explore the advantages and disadvantages of EGR and the most effective implementation of various EGR systems. This seminar will begin by defining EGR and why it is used in diesel engines, along with an explanation of the mechanisms by which EGR is able to reduce NOx. This seminar will then move into implementation of EGR systems and examples of these systems on medium and heavy-duty diesel engines. In addition, the impact of EGR on various engine components will be discussed and will include EGR coolers, valves and piping. Finally, a section will be devoted to the comparison between EGR and SCR and their future roles in reducing NOx emissions, as well as their impact on fuel efficiency and CO2 emissions. Emphasized in this comparison is the use of EGR in novel combustion systems and its ability to reduce emissions in-cylinder.

INTRODUCTION :

Corrosion control and monitoring course focuses on corrosion – from either internal or external source – and its potential problem, and the protection methods to stop or control them. Review on corrosion and technique by which it can be identified, monitored and controlled will be given in detail. Active participation is encouraged through case studies and examples especially on the use of painting and coatings, transformer-rectifier of impressed current, magnesium, zinc and alum sacrificial anodes for external protection, and the injection of corrosion inhibitors and biocides for internal corrosion control.

When you get stuck, your first action must be correct and swift. Otherwise your chances to free up your string will diminish exponentially with every passing minute. This course will be all about prevention rather than cure. It will teach the complete process of detection, diagnostics, and resolution in a methodical way. The student will be working in teams to analyze real field cases and present their solution. The course will address advanced topics in hole problems such as depleted sands, supra and subsalt gouge zones, fractured rocks, salt problems, and HPHT drilling windows. In addition, the student will learn how to perform the math required for diagnosing and resolving these problems. All 25 plus causes of stuck pipe will be addressed, what causes each, how to identify them, what immediate action can be taken. The Course shows the role of each member of the rig team in the chain to facilitate proactive early diagnosis. This course is set a part from other traditional courses by its extensive use of integrated approach of data analysis and clever use of drilling trends and cuttings analysis.
