Overview : Training Fiscal Metering

Fiscal metering plays a key role in the oil and gas industry.  It is used at the custody transfer points of the plant’s output thus has impact on the revenue stream and profitability of the facility.

This course is designed to provide the participants with an understanding of principles of fiscal metering as it relates to instrumentation.  The course covers various fluid flow measuring devices and associated equipment found in a typical fiscal metering station.  Operational characteristics and maintenance requirements for these instruments are also covered.

Day 1

Basic Fiscal Metering

On the first day, participants will be introduced the definition of fiscal metering and the glossary of terms associated with fiscal metering.  The laws of physics behind measuring fluid flow in pipes will be reviewed.  Standards for measurement integrity will be covered. Instruments used for flow measurements and operation of gas chromatographs will be explained.

Day 2

Fiscal Metering Instrumentation

  • Temperature meters
  • Flow computers

On this day the participants will be introduced to operation and characteristics of various fluid flow meters such as ultrasonic, orifice plate, ventruri, turbine, and coriolis flow meters.  Various algorithms used by flow computers to compensate raw flow signals will be explained.  The participants will learn how temperature and pressure measurements are used in the algorithms to accurately calculate volumetric flow rates.

Fiscal Metering Analyzers

On the last day, participants will learn about how quality of petroleum products is measured using analyzers in fiscal metering station.  Operation of typical flow meter provers will be discussed. Operational and maintenance carried out in typical fiscal metering stations will be explained.

Overview Training Process Measurement

In order to safely and effectively operate an oil and gas processing plant, the process operator must have an accurate measurement of all the process variables that are related to making a quality product.

The four essential measuring parameters are flow, temperature, pressure and level.  Other types of measuring parameters such as vibration and on-stream analysis are also available.  Due to the multitude of process applications no one meter can be used to cover all situations.  Therefore many types of measuring instruments must be made available.

In this three day course, participants will learn about the basic elements of process measurement, the operating principles of measurement sensors and how measurement signals are transmitted. They will gain an understanding of the four common measuring parameters (flow, temperature, level and pressure) as well as some of the less common parameters used in industry.

The primary focus on day two will be the different types of flow and temperature measuring devices. Participants will learn about the properties of fluid flow and temperature change and how these properties are used to operate their respective sensors.  They will also learn how different types of flow and temperature meters are built to match the different process dynamics related to flow and temperature changes.

Day 3

Process Measurement – Pressure

  • Pressure measurement

  • Other measuring devices

Participants will learn about the different types of pressure and level measuring devices as the course continues on day three. They will learn about the properties of pressure and level and how these properties are used to operate their respective sensors. They will also learn how different types of pressure and level meters are built to match the different process dynamics related to pressure and level changes.  As the day concludes, discussions will also cover the measurement of other parameters that are sometimes used in industry.

Description Training Communication Systems

Communication Systems are of the utmost importance whether it is for everyday operations or in an emergency situation.  Communications Systems are typically governed by federal/state legislation and are controlled by rigid guidelines within the region they are set-up.  They are dependent upon radio transmission and reception. Equipment can be hard wired, use radio waves or communicate via satellite.

This course was designed to introduce participants to the different types of communication equipment and the operation of a transmitter and a receiver. It course covers radio frequency bands, the different media used to communicate information and the legislative regulations involved in telecommunications.  Participants will be exposed to the specific communication protocols that are used as well as some of the common communication equipment used in everyday plant operations.

Upon completion of this course, participants will have a better understanding of the operation and importance of communications systems associated with oil and gas environments.  The knowledge that technicians gain from this course will be further expanded by on-job training and practical experience they will receive throughout the duration of their career.

Training Cathodic Protection

Cathodic protection plays a key role in corrosion control in the oil and gas industry.  It controls the corrosion of buried structures.

This course has been designed to provide participants with an understanding of the basic principles of corrosion mechanisms and focuses on the control of galvanic corrosion by the use of sacrificial anodes and induced current cathodic protection.  The participants will learn the main components used in cathodic protection and methods used to safely test them and maintain them.

Upon completion of this course, participants should have a better understanding of the technology related to cathodic protection within the industry.  Having this knowledge will help each technician develop confidence and professional enthusiasm, therefore, increasing their efficiency. The knowledge that technicians gained from this course will be further expanded by on-job training and practical experience they will receive throughout the duration of their career.

On the first day participants will be introduced to basic chemistry to explain corrosion mechanisms.  They will learn about how to control corrosion due galvanic reaction.  The typical layout of an impressed current cathodic protection system with the focus on anode installations and performance specifications will also be explained.

Day 2

Testing and Maintaining Cathodic Protection Systems

  • CP rectifiers
  • Power supplies for remote locations
  • Cables and bonding to structures
  • Testing cathodic protection systems

On the second day participants will learn about the construction and operation of single phase and three-phase rectifiers.  Rectifiers with manual and automatic output adjustments and safety associated with working around rectifiers will be explained.  The participants will learn about Photo Voltaic (PV) and Thermal Electrical Generators (TEGs) that are used in remote locations to power cathodic protection systems. The day will conclude with topics on testing and maintenance of typical cathodic protection systems.

INTENDED FOR

This short course is designed to give the attendants the fundamentals of natural gas and its by‐products conditioning and processing including some of the details of the process. Pipeline Defect Assessment Course

Course Outline
Many transmission pipelines are now over 40 years old. This is middle aged in pipeline terms, and even the best designed and maintained pipeline will become defective as it progresses through its design life. Therefore, operators need to be aware of the effect these defects will have on their pipeline, and more importantly be able to assess their significance in terms of the continuing integrity of the pipeline. The increasing use of high-technology maintenance (for xample,intelligent pigs) is helping pipeline owners to assess the condition of their lines, and if these modern maintenance methods are combined with modern defect-assessment methods, they can provide a very powerful, and cost-effective, tool. This course will present the latest defect -assessment methods to pipeline engineers and managers. These methods will range from simple, quick, assessment methods, to the more-detailed fitness-for-purpose analysis.

Course Objectives
The course will cover methods available to assess the significance of efects detected in onshore and offshore pipelines. It will introduce simple analytical methods used to assess internal and external corrosion, dents and gouges, cracks (for example, SCC), weld defects, and fatigue. The course is unique as it is a holistic approach to defect assessment, and it ensures the student appreciates all aspects of the subject, including repair and risk management.

This course will cover current practices for evaluating, drilling and completing these challenging reservoirs. Discussion will include a focus on the limitations of many of the current tools and technologies. Information and opportunities for international shale plays will be described. The participant should leave the course with a foundational understanding of value-adding shale gas resource practices and an insight into determining the critical reservoir parameters used to predict a potential commercial resource play.

Description:
Course is designed to familiarize the user with the ProMAX user interface, flow building, parameter analysis, and implementation of 2D and 3D processing tools. Students will begin using 2D data to become familiar with the user interface and data display tools. The course will move to 3D data where the student will construct and execute a complete processing sequence from data input and geometry assignment to migration and display. Course lectures and demos are integrated with extensive hands-on use of the ProMAX tools.

After this course, you should be able to:

This course gives a technical overview of the science and art of drilling operations, completion practices and post-completion wellbore enhancement or remedial workover techniques (well intervention). Reservoir Engineers will learn what can be done within open-hole and cased wells as they execute reservoir management. TARGET & TUJUAN TRAINING :

Setelah menyelesaikan training ini diharapkan peserta dapat :

  • Memahami prinsip-prinsip dasar dan berbagai perhitungan sederhana untuk pelaksanaan pemboran sumur-sumur minyak, gas dan reservoir panas bumi, pengembangan pelaksanaan  perhitungan ini untuk meningkatkan kinerja pemboran sumur-sumur di lapangan.
